Disclaimers:Stargate SG-1 and its characters are properties of Showtime/Viacom, MGM/UA, Double Secret Productions and Gekko Productions. Much to my sorrow, I think that precludes me claiming either the archaeologist or the colonel. Original characters, situations and story are the property of the author and are not to be appropriated without the permission of the author. This story is intended for entertainment purposes only; no money will be made with it. Trust me. No money.
Summary: Jack and Daniel reach a turning point.
Warnings: This story is slash, though it contains nothing graphic. There is some bad language and some violence, and allusion to very violent events which occurred previous to the time of this tale.
Notes: There is obviously a great deal of backstory for this. At this time, these events exist only in my head. Whether I'll ever put them on paper depends largely upon whether I ever feel confident that I'd be able to do well by them.
Fond acknowledgement to Lori and Brenda, who supplied immeasurable help to this neophyte writer. Among other things, they showed me that Donner was trying to be a different sort of man from what I'd thought. Particular thanks to Lori, who not only helped me keep Daniel's eyeballs inside his skull, but served admirably as my (foul) language coach. Most specifically, I want to make it clear that *she* is responsible for the "ratfuckin' piece of shit." Thanks, Lori ;^) Thanks to Jb for helping me figure out just what Daniel's injury was, and how it worked into the story. And finally, thanks to Yum@ for providing the image that produced the last paragraph.
