Disclaimers:Stargate SG-1 and its characters are properties of Showtime/Viacom, MGM/UA, Double Secret Productions and Gekko Productions. Much to my sorrow, I think that precludes me claiming either the archaeologist or the colonel. Original characters, situations and story are the property of the author and are not to be appropriated without the permission of the author. This story is intended for entertainment purposes only; no money will be made with it. Trust me. No money.
Summary: Daniel fights some serious internal battles. Jack doesn't really help.
Warnings: This story is slash, and it contains some fairly graphic scenes.
Notes: Roller Coaster is part of what will eventually be a four-story arc. This story itself has three parts: Lift, Crest and Freefall. All of these will be posted within the next couple of days. The story arc begins with this story (Roller Coaster). The second story, working title In the Rough, is currently being written, but don't expect it soon--it's long, complicated and has some very hard stuff in it. The third story is Disconnected, which is already available. The fourth story is also currently in the works--may actually be finished before that nasty second story. That's where I get to make everything better :^) Can't wait.
Now, here's the warning part. Disconnected was my first attempt at writing fiction, but when I wrote it I already knew the whole story. I chose that part to write first because it was the first point in the arc which provided anything like a happy ending. That should give you a clue about this story, and particularly about the next one. You might want to have Disconnected handy to cheer you up ;^) This story contains quite a bit of angst, and the next one even more. Gotta hurt 'em to get to the comfort, right?
Fond acknowledgement to my several beta readers, those to whom I listened, and those to whom I didn't. I can be *very* stubborn LOL!
